How Freelance Signal Engine handles public data, Threads API information, hosted and local storage, retention, and deletion requests.
Freelance Signal Engine is a research and lead-management tool developed and operated by Adhwa Shukri. It helps the operator review publicly available signals that may indicate a need for freelance software-development or related professional services.
The application can integrate with the official Threads API and other permitted public or imported data sources. It is not a Threads messaging client and does not automatically send replies or direct messages on Threads or anywhere else.
The application runs either on the operator's own computer or as a password-protected instance hosted on Streamlit Community Cloud at freelance-signal-engine.streamlit.app. The hosted instance is for the operator's use; it is not a public service and does not accept sign-ups from the public.
Depending on the permissions granted by Meta and the data returned by the Threads API, and on the public sources used, Freelance Signal Engine may process public information such as:
Information is used to organise and review public freelance/business opportunities, remove duplicates, assign relevance scores, preserve source links, and allow the operator to decide whether a lead should be reviewed manually.
The application is intended for professional research and business-development support. It is not intended for profiling people for employment, credit, insurance, housing, healthcare, or other high-impact decisions.
Local use. When run on the operator's computer, data is stored in a local SQLite database, local export files, and local backups created by the operator.
Hosted use. When run on Streamlit Community Cloud, data is stored in the hosting container's temporary storage, which is cleared whenever the app restarts, is redeployed or goes to sleep. Exports are downloaded by the operator to the operator's own device. API tokens and the app password are stored in Streamlit's encrypted secrets store and never in the source code.
Data is retained only for as long as reasonably needed for the purposes described above, record-keeping, suppression of unwanted outreach, or legal/compliance needs. Records may be deleted manually or upon a valid deletion request.
Freelance Signal Engine does not sell personal information. Data may be processed through the relevant source platform or API provider solely as necessary to retrieve or verify permitted public information, and through the hosting provider (Streamlit Community Cloud, operated by Snowflake Inc.) solely to run the application. Information is not shared with unrelated advertisers or data brokers.
Threads data is subject to Meta's and Threads' own terms, policies, API permissions and availability. Public company directories, company websites and job platforms remain subject to their own terms and privacy notices. JobStreet and MauKerja are never accessed automatically by the application; only files supplied by the operator are processed.
Reasonable technical and organisational measures are used to protect stored data and access credentials: the hosted instance is password-protected, served over HTTPS and limited to the operator; API tokens and secrets are kept outside the public source-code repository and should never be committed to GitHub or exposed in screenshots.
If you believe information about you has been stored by Freelance Signal Engine and you want it deleted, follow the Data Deletion Instructions. You may also contact hello@adhwashukri.com.
This Privacy Policy may be updated when the application's functionality, permissions, hosting, or data practices change. The current version will be published at this URL with an updated revision date.
